Seized dangerous drugs worth about HK$55 million hidden in 40 airmail parcels | HK Customs

  • A large-scale anti-narcotics operation between September 1 and September 15, 2021 was conducted to combat drug trafficking syndicates smuggling drugs into Hong Kong through parcels

  • Nearly 100kg of suspected dangerous drugs were seized, including suspected methamphetamine, cannabis, ketamine, cocaine, ecstasy and heroin

  • The total estimated market value of the seizures was about HK$55 million

  • Among the parcels in which drugs were concealed were milk powder cans, bagged tea leaves, rucksacks, music record covers, candles and a vacuum cleaner

  • A 15-year-old teenager was arrested while he collected a parcel containing a batch of candles, in which about 4kg of suspected cannabis concentrate were concealed

  • A 35-year-old woman was arrested while she collected a parcel containing a vacuum cleaner, in which about 2kg of suspected methamphetamine were concealed
